"Break It Down" is a 1995 song and the third solo single by US singer Malaika.
After two sizable hits on A&M Records, with So Much Love" and "Gotta Know (Your Name)" (both entered Top 5 of the U.S. Billboard Hot Dance Music/Club Play chart),[1] the singer tried to hit da indie trail dipping into hip-hop waters with a composition written and produced by R.K. Jackson and Geraldine "Gere" Sigler. However, Malaika's second studio album was reportedly to follow up,[2] the track became her only release issued on the New York's label Vestry Records, and her last single to date.
